The Scottish Fisheries Museum was set up to celebrate the fishing heritage of Scotland. It is based in Anstruther, Fife, which was a very important fishing town up until the 20th century. The museum charts how, over time, the fishing industry came to be such a huge part of the lives of Scottish people. It shows the industry from both the sea and the shore - there are vast collections of items from the community, including photographs and domestic equipment, as well as a variety of fishing vessels, in both model and original form.
