Located near the Temple in the Sea at Waterloo, island of Trinidad, the Indian Caribbean Museum is the only one of its kind in the world. It Is dedicated to the preservation of the material history of the Indo-Caribbean Culture, concerning the over one million descendants of East Indians/South Asians in the Caribbean. The first Indian immigrants came to the Caribbean from India to work as indentured laborers from 1838 to 1917 after the abolition of slavery.

Teniendo en cuenta que viven en el Caribe más de un millón de descendientes de personas provenientes de India del este y del sur de Asia.
