Mas isso é museu? Como museus sem parede enfrentam o desafio da educação museal.

Valda de Oliveira Fagundes & Maria Isabel Ferraz Pereira Leite

The paper analyzes the work in Ecomuseum Agobar Dr. Fagundes, in Blumenau/SC, and the Museum of Childhood, in Criciúma/SC, lightening their typological characteristics: as an ecomuseum – understood as a privileged place to discuss contemporary relations between man, nature and museum; and as an university museum with community character – those whose collections are in custody and responsibility of an university, and whose propose is to be a social gathering space around knowledge/heritage as a meaning production possibility to local population and surrounding, stimulating the processes of identity configuration, and improving quality of life to social groups that inhabit the region, in its multiple social functions. In addition, it analyzes their point of convergence: both are structured, museographically, as museums without walls, who gave up physical boundaries and borders, territories leaked. From the initial conceptualization, the article opens the debate about the estrangement of the public at this museum experience, while indicating new possibilities that this perception brings, in order to assist other museums to reinvent themselves and be reconfigured to meet a more diverse audience, setting up new projects, new questions, and new interpretations.
