El museo está hecho por la comunidad y para la comunidad, donde se cuenta la memoria del pueblo con la voz y el trabajo de sus propios pobladores. En su arquitectura representa los diferentes momentos históricos de la vivienda en la comunidad y al igual que la museografía, es producto del trabajo talentoso de artesanos y constructores de Curré.
Representa además una ventana al pasado precolombino, el cual se complementa con las esferas de piedra que resguardan la entrada del museo. También tiene en exposición, los orígenes de la comunidad, la vida de sus primeros pobladores y las luchas por la autonomía del territorio indígena.
The museum is made by the community and for the community, where the memory of the people is told with the voice and work of its own inhabitants. Its architecture represents the different historical moments of housing in the community and, like the museography, it is the product of the talented work of artisans and builders of Curré.
It also represents a window to the pre-Columbian past, which is complemented by the stone spheres that protect the entrance to the museum. It also displays the origins of the community, the life of its first settlers and the struggles for the autonomy of the indigenous territory.

Rey Curré, cuyos pobladores también hacen resistencia por su territorio y su cultura. Si bien durante los años de 1980 no se lleva a cabo el desarrollo del museo comunitario, las luchas emprendidas en ese momento marcan el contexto que llevará posteriormente a la creación del museo. De manera particular, la aculturación e imposición de decisiones en Curré estuvo marcada por la construcción de la Carretera Interamericana por en medio del territorio, lo cual trajo destrucción de la naturaleza, huaquerismo e imposición de la cultura foránea.
En octubre de 2011 comenzaron una serie de asambleas, reuniones y talleres donde la comunidad discute y acuerda sobre la creación y desarrollo del museo comunitario. En estos espacios fue posible consensuar la ubicación y construcción del local físico, los temas de exhibición, así como el diseño museográfico de la infraestructura. Durante los años 2012 y 2013 el edificio se construye, así también con los trabajos de investigación sobre los temas a exhibir y la recolección de fotografías, para luego abarcar el diseño y montaje museográfico.

Although the development of the community museum was not carried out during the 1980s, the struggles undertaken at that time marked the context that would subsequently lead to the creation of the museum. In particular, the acculturation and imposition of decisions in Curré was marked by the construction of the Inter-American Highway through the middle of the territory, which brought the destruction of nature, looting, and imposition of foreign culture.
In October 2011, a series of assemblies, meetings and workshops began where the community discussed and agreed on the creation and development of the community museum. In these spaces it was possible to agree on the location and construction of the physical site, the exhibition themes, as well as the museographic design of the infrastructure. During the years 2012 and 2013, the building was built, as well as the research work on the subjects to be exhibited and the collection of photographs, to then take on the museographic design and assembly.
