One way to evaluate the evolution of a given field of study is to analyze its publications. We have sought to focus attention on the role of publications in the field of Museology in Portugal. How has it evolved? In what ways has it been produced? What initiatives and actors? This review was not intended to be exhaustive, but rather to point out some dynamics and trends, weaknesses and perspectives.
