Memory Meeting, Neltume
Participation
From January 31 to February 2, the Memory Meeting was held, an activity organized by the Neltume Museum and Memory Cultural Center, together with the Neltume Memory Committee. During this meeting the expanded community of the Neltume Museum participated; family and friends of victims of the dictatorship, survivors, neighbors and neighbors, academy representatives, etc.

Among several commemorative activities, destacó el recorrido por los hitos de la Ruta de la Memoria, representing places where, in the context of dictatorship, people from the community were killed, the Conversatory “Contrasts and unification of the Social Protest from different territories”, and the visit to Camp 83 of the Toki Lautaro Guerrilla Detachment.

Also -as it has usually happened during these commemorations- was held a ceremony of delivery and reception of a set of personal objects belonging to one of the guerrilla participants killed in dictatorship, whose family decided to donate to the Neltume Museum and Memory Cultural Center. This validates the hypothesis developed in the framework of the Eulac project, respect to the fact that the social function in this space is expressed mainly through a community that participates both in the constant donation of objects that nourish the collection, as well as stories that allow the script to be updated.

The participation of the Eulac team, represented by its principal investigator and three former thesis researchers, concentrated on general support in activities; registration of a dialogue held between the participants and the Director of the Museum, Angélica Navarrete about the experience in working with community museums; and the moderation of the conversatory by Karin Weil.
